Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge arrives after the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
