FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend

Barça revealed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Bilbao team in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside based on approved permits. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA to host the next European match against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
