Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and in a stunning show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the most decorated winner. This surprise role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with accolades for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's success, its skilled performers also were honored with individual awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself received Best Development Team. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers achieved 7 awards during the show.
Other standout winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four special—Critics' Pick, Rising Star, Hall of Fame, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by critics.
